Publicis Groupe is reinforcing its commitment to its DEI and ESG initiatives by appointing a new chief impact officer from McCann. The new appointee, previously serving as chief client officer and the agency’s first chief sustainability lead, will now drive impact across Publicis’ long-term ESG commitments. These include ambitious climate goals, diversity, equity, and inclusion action plans, as well as key initiatives like the Working with Cancer pledge and the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society.
This high-level appointment will see the new chief impact officer joining the Groupe’s management committee, reporting directly to the CEO, who is the driving force behind the Working with Cancer program. The role will also involve collaboration with the president of Publicis France, who sponsors the ESG efforts.
The new officer expressed admiration for Publicis’ transformative work, highlighting its ability to anticipate and prepare for the future through concrete environmental and societal commitments. They look forward to joining a team that is visionary, courageous, and agile.
The CEO of Publicis emphasized that the company’s transformation has led to outperforming the industry on all key business and financial indicators over the past four years. However, they acknowledge that for growth to be truly sustainable, it must also be responsible. With the new chief impact officer’s proven expertise in driving impactful change for major global companies, Publicis is confident in accelerating its ESG agenda for the benefit of its people, clients, and the planet.
